Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY NERO May 27, 1944 - September 21, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Alice Nero (Tymchen) on September 21, 2016 at Foothills Medical Centre, with family at her side. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph and Jean Tymchen. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Henry. She is also survived by children Dean (Patricia) Nero, Tammy Brenna and Kelly (Duane) Anscombe; grandchildren Steven, Natalie, Kelci, and Shane. Shirley, along with husband Henry, started their lives and family together in Winnipeg where she quickly learned to adapt to life as a working mother. In 1985 Shirley and Henry moved the household to Calgary where they have resided ever since. Shirley enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. She also enjoyed receiving visits at their home in Calgary from family and friends, many of which enjoyed their hospitality while visiting Calgary as their final destination or while passing through. Her favourite times in recent memory were when she was able to spend time with Henry, their children and grandchildren during the holiday season and on the annual summer road trip in the motorhome with all of the grandchildren. Even while affected by health issues for the past 20 years, Shirley continued to live life to the fullest. The family is extremely grateful for the love and compassionate care Shirley received from the staff on Unit 37 at Foothills Medical Centre during her time there. Her service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 - 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Monday, September 26, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 - 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0G5 (www.kidney.ca) To express condolences, please visit: www.mountainviewmemorial.ca
